CoDeSys is a device-independent PLC-programming system. Matching the IEC 61131-3 standard it supports all standard programming languages but also allows including C-routines and supports object orientated programming.
In combination with the CoDeSys SP runtime system it allows multi-device and multi-application programming. The component-based structure makes possible a customer-specific configuration and extension of the user interface.
There are two main fields of application for the CoDeSysAutomation
Platform :
* You can add your own plug-ins to the development system CoDeSys V3 and then for example integrate a new programming language, a new field bus or develop a project wizard. Existing plug-ins can be replaced by customized implementations.
* You can develop a stand-alone application which makes use of the complete Automation Platform functionality in order to provide customers with an easy to handle tool for their specific tasks.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Minimal requirements for small projects with up to 100 POUs, 10 visualizations, 8 field bus devices:
* 1 GB RAM
* Windows 2000 or higher (not yet released for the 64-bit platforms of Windows Vista and Windows 7)
* 1GHz Pentium
* 1GB hard disk
* Screen resolution 1024 x 768
Required:
* Operating systems: Windows 2000 (Windows XP or Windows Vista also possible)
* RAM: 512MB
* Harddisk: 200MB
* Processor: Pentium V, Centrino > 1,8 GHz, Pentium M > 1,0GHz
Recommended:
* Operating systems: Windows XP
* RAM: 1024MB
* Harddisk: 1GB
* Processor: Pentium V, Centrino > 3,0 GHz, Pentium M > 1,5GHz
LIMITATIONS
* Demo version executable for 1 hour, can be restarted as often as required.
* CoDeSys V3 is a completely new development. Devices which are programmable with CoDeSys V2 today, cannot be programmed with CoDeSys V3 The manufactures of CoDeSys controllers are currently implementing the new runtime system in order to make their controllers programmable with CoDeSys V3.
The CoDeSys Automation Platform is a development platform for the extension of the CoDeSys programming system. At
the same time it is a complete application framework for the creation of development environments for industrial controller networks. The CoDeSys Automation Platform is based on the Microsoft .NET technology.
